CHOOSING THE RIGHT WEB SITE AUDIO SOFTWARE
Now that you've learned how to create your
own audio file, which program do you use to convert your
message or music to the proper audio streaming format, add
a controller and integrate it into your web site?
Choices to consider
- An online audio hosted
solution
- Do it yourself, upload to your web
server
After a lot of research we've narrowed it
down to two different audio streaming solutions, depending on
your needs and abilities.
The first is an audio hosting solution, where
everything is done through a specialized service that can
record and stream your audio. You simply add a link in your
web page.
The second is a software solution that you install on
your computer. You use the software to convert the audio
file, add a controller, and put it all into your web site
yourself.
NOTE: Microsoft has changed its security settings in Internet
Explorer. As a result, when a visitor goes to click on an audio
controller in a web site they get something like the tag seen
here:

It requires a visitor to
click on it once to activate the controller, then click again
to actually play the audio. If you want to prevent this from
happening there is a workaround that is explained here.
